At AP Education, we are committed to improving outcomes for young people who are unable to attend school, particularly those with special educational needs and disabilities.
Our experienced tutors are carefully matched to each learner, delivering a fully personalised package of education and support. Our approach aligns with the Government’s SEND and Alternative Provision Improvement Plan and prioritises the safety, wellbeing, and progress of every learner.
We deliver personalised tuition that helps every young person realise their potential, no matter their starting point or circumstance. Our team brings consistency, compassion, and commitment to every placement, creating tailored education plans that support re-engagement, build confidence, and inspire long-term success.
We are dedicated to delivering positive outcomes for every learner. As Alternative Provision providers, we understand that it can be difficult for parents and carers to believe in the possibility of change, but we are that change. Our focus is to bridge the gap in education by offering a personalised, engaging approach to learning that makes education enjoyable yet impactful. We prioritise improving attendance and supporting the reintegration into learning.
Consistency is key when it comes to AP Education by making sure the learner is receiving continuous support from the tutor and the team. We believe that pairing the learner with one tutor not only creates a more trusting relationship but also introduces to the learner a sense of daily routine.
We are committed to creating an inclusive environment for all learners, whatever their needs or circumstances. AP Education offers tailored support by adapting our teaching methods to meet each learner’s individual needs, ensuring everyone has access to meaningful educational opportunities. Our approach focuses on fostering a safe and supportive atmosphere where diversity is recognised, respected, and celebrated, and where every learner is supported to progress towards their own goals.
5 years of delivering positive outcomes for our learners, including those with complex needs, through high-quality Alternative Provision. We recognise each learner’s potential and aim to ignite a passion for learning by supporting them to achieve meaningful progress – whether that involves returning to mainstream education, transitioning to specialist settings, or preparing for post-16 pathways such as college, training, or employment.
Our team at AP Education is more than just a provider. It’s an organisation where passion for education meets purpose. We act as an extended support network for learners and their families, joining the initial session and staying involved through regular planning meetings to build strong, supportive relationships.
We ensure a quick response time, with the first planning meeting being arranged within as little as 48 hours of receiving the referral. Depending on the complexity of a learner’s needs, we ensure they receive access to vital education as quickly as possible; bridging the gaps in education.
At AP Education, we believe every young person deserves an education that is accessible, inclusive, and built around their individual needs. We support learners who are currently unable to attend school, ensuring that educational opportunities are never out of reach.

Emotionally Based School Avoidance
AP Education supports learners from age 4 through to 18, and up to age 25 for those with an EHCP. We work across all key stages, from Early Years to Post-16.
We are fully equipped to respond promptly to urgent referrals, arranging the first planning meeting within just 48 hours of receiving the referral. Whilst our typical turnaround is quick, we like to make sure the learner is fully supported with their needs, meaning some complex cases might take a little longer. We ensure the perfect match between tutor and learner, creating the foundation for a tailored and impactful journey.
The provision takes place in a location that best suits the needs of the learner. This includes face to face sessions, at the family home, or in one of our carefully selected venues which are conveniently located for the learner / parents. We can also accommodate learners with medical needs who require online learning.
Reintegration is a highly individualised process shaped by several factors, including family involvement, ongoing mentoring from AP Education and our tutors, pupil readiness, and the level of support from the local authority. We set learner-centred development goals that consider any underlying social, emotional, or mental health (SEMH) needs, as well as the learner’s previous educational experiences.
Successful reintegration depends on strong collaboration with multi-agency partners, tailored support plans, and continuous progress monitoring. When a learner is ready, we work closely with all parties to begin a phased or full reintegration into a suitable ongoing education setting – always based on what is in the learner’s best interests.
Yes, every tutor is supported by a dedicated Education Delivery Coordinator (EDCo), who provides regular check-ins, mentoring, and practical support throughout the placement. EDCo support includes communication with stakeholders, attending visits and meetings, and helping to resolve any logistical or pastoral issues that arise.
Tutors also have access to a growing CPD programme, including bespoke training developed by AP Education and a curated selection of online courses — primarily through the TES platform, as well as other providers. This ensures tutors continue to build their skills and stay up to date with best practice during their work with us.
