We receive a referral, usually from a school or Local Authority, for a learner who needs additional support beyond mainstream education, or as a supplementary provision.
We pride ourselves in putting each learner first
From the moment a referral is made, we pride on putting each learner first. Our focus is on understanding the learner’s unique needs and building an Individualised Learning Plan that supports them to thrive. We work closely with parents, carers, schools, and Local Authorities to ensure every step is collaborative, transparent, and focused on what’s best for the learner.
Whether our role is short-term intervention or longer-term provision, our process is built around meaningful engagement, flexibility, and consistent review. Our goal is to close educational gaps, support personal growth, and help learners move forward with confidence. Whether we’re a short stop on the journey or a longer-term support system, we are committed to doing what’s right for each individual.
Outcomes and timelines are agreed collaboratively with all stakeholders; parents/carers, schools, Local Authorities, and other professionals, so that the learner receives support in a setting that suits their needs and aspirations.
We receive a referral, usually from a school or Local Authority, for a learner who needs additional support beyond mainstream education, or as a supplementary provision.
We begin by reviewing key documentation and consulting with those who know the learner best - parents/carers, teachers, case officers, and professionals. This helps us understand the learner’s academic, social, emotional, and behavioural needs.
Based on this information, we carefully match the learner with a tutor who is best suited to meet their academic and emotional needs, taking into account subject expertise, teaching style, and experience with SEND or SEMH if relevant.
We bring together all key stakeholders - including parents/carers, tutors, Education Delivery Coordinators (EDCos), schools, Local Authorities, and any involved services (e.g., CAMHS, EPS, Social Services), to co-design the support package. We explore learner interests, plan reasonable adjustments, and agree on shared goals.
We identify the most suitable setting for the learner whether it be home, a community venue, or online; based on their needs and wellbeing. A risk assessment is carried out to ensure safety and suitability.
A personalised learning plan is developed, drawing on the learner’s strengths, interests, EHCP targets (where applicable), and support requirements. Flexibility remains key, and we adapt session content based on learner response and progress.
We prepare any necessary resources in advance (e.g., PECS cards, visual timetables, fidget tools, educational games) to ensure sessions are accessible, engaging, and matched to the learner’s needs.
Sessions begin at a pace suited to the learner’s comfort level. The tutor focuses on building rapport and engagement before introducing formal baseline assessments.
Daily attendance is logged in real-time using our online tracking system, giving all stakeholders access to up-to-date data and weekly trends.
Regular contact with families helps us celebrate progress, respond to feedback, and make any necessary adjustments. Parents and carers are key partners in the learner’s journey.
We hold multi-agency review meetings every six weeks (or half-termly) to reflect on progress, assess the placement, and agree on next steps. This collaboration ensures the plan remains appropriate and effective.
Tutors complete weekly and half-termly reports detailing learner progress, achievements, challenges, and areas for development. These reports are shared with all relevant stakeholders.
Transitions are carefully planned in collaboration with all stakeholders to ensure the learner feels prepared and supported. Whether moving into full-time education, training, or another setting, we take a phased, flexible approach that prioritises readiness, reduces anxiety, and promotes long-term success in the next stage of the learner’s journey.
Throughout, we maintain robust safeguarding procedures to ensure the learner’s safety, wellbeing, and right to access education in a safe environment.
At the end of a placement, we work closely with all stakeholders to support a successful and sustainable next step for the learner. This may include a phased reintegration into a full-time educational setting, transition to vocational training, or movement into a specialist provision, whatever is most appropriate for the learner at that time.
All transitions are carefully planned and supported, with a focus on long-term success and learner readiness. We ensure that any handover is clear and that the learner feels confident, prepared, and supported as they move on.
Our aim is always to help learners reach positive destinations; one that supports their continued growth, wellbeing, and access to meaningful learning.
Our safeguarding policies are central to our work, ensuring a safe, supportive, and professionally accountable environment for every learner.
