A learner who had lost confidence and connection with education began to thrive again through personalised support, rebuilding trust, communication, and a love for learning.
With a 48-hour timeframe from receiving referral through to starting the provision.
When A was first referred to us, she had experienced a significant breakdown in her previous educational setting and had been out of education for some time. Understandably, this left A feeling isolated, lacking in confidence, and disengaged from learning.
We began the journey together with patience, empathy, and a personalised approach. Through slow introductions and carefully tailored sessions that reflected the learner’s individual interests and a healthy dose of humour, both A and Natasha built a foundation of trust. In the early days, verbal communication was a challenge; A chose not to speak during sessions. But with consistency, understanding, and a non-pressured environment, she gradually began to find her voice and grow in self-assurance.
A bespoke scheme of work was created to bridge the gaps left by lost learning, offering both the support and challenge needed to prepare for future exams. Sessions were structured yet flexible, always nurturing both emotional and academic growth.
Throughout this journey, both we maintained regular, detailed communication with parents, ensuring they felt fully involved and supported. This strong partnership helped create a consistent, wraparound network for the learner both in and out of sessions.
The progress has been truly inspiring. Where once the learner felt unable to leave the home, A now confidently goes for walks and engage with the local community. Communication skills have blossomed, with sessions providing a safe space to explore and express emotions and feelings.
Attendance and engagement have been consistently excellent, a testament to A’s growing commitment and belief in her own abilities.
Today, A continues to thrive, both academically and personally. The learner’s journey stands as a shining example of what can be achieved when education is delivered with compassion, creativity, and care.
