Tuition and Support

1:1 Tuition

Tailored, one-to-one tuition delivered in the community, family home, or online, designed around each learner’s unique goals.

2:1 Tuition

An enhanced support model where two tutors work together to meet more complex or intensive needs.

Group Intervention

Small group tuition for learners from the same setting, offering peer interaction alongside targeted support.

Online Tuition (1:1)

A flexible and effective option for young people who are temporarily unable to access in-person support.

Education Journey with APE

Pre-Placement

Gather key information about the young person’s needs, interests, and learning style
Match the learner with a suitable tutor based on experience and subject knowledge

Planning

Hold a planning meeting with all stakeholders (family, school, local authority)
Set clear objectives and design a personalised education package

During Placement

Education Delivery Co-Ordinator (EDCo) attends the first session to ensure the learner & tutor are aligned with planning objectives
Support the family & learner with the transition to the new learning experience
Monitor attendance daily and share progress reports with families, the local authority or school
Maintain regular communication to adapt provision, keep the placement on track, and assess its impact
Ensure the learner's voice & family input are central to the process
Embed and ensure safeguarding practices are adhered to from inception and throughout placement.

Post-Placement

Work with stakeholders to agree next steps based on the learner’s needs, goals, and achievements
Support the young person in transitioning to a positive destination, such as a new education setting, provision, or training
